PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FROM NEW YORK CITY
TO WEST POINT VISITORS CENTER

Public Transportation from New York

By Bus:
The most convenient way to get to West Point from New York City is by bus. Short Line Bus company runs regular service to West Point from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan at 42nd Street and Eighth Ave. The bus will drop you off right at the West Point Visitors Center. For schedules and prices you can go to www.shortlinebus.com
By Train:
Train service to the West Point area is offered by Metro North Railroad on the Hudson Line. These trains depart from Grand Central Station on 42nd St and Lexington Avenue. The train service operates on the opposite side of the river from West Point so you must get a taxi from the train station to get to West Point. The best station to get off at is Peekskill, due to the availability of taxi cabs. It is about a 20 minute cab ride from the Peekskill train station to West Point. Once you are at West Point you should make arrangements for that same taxi to pick you up as there are no local taxis at the Visitors Center or at West Point.
